Hebburn Central
The town's flagship leisure and community hub, with two swimming pools, a gym, a library and public computers.
About Hebburn Central
Hebburn Central is the town's flagship leisure and community hub, an award-winning building in the heart of Hebburn town centre on Glen Street. Opened in 2016, it houses two swimming pools, a modern fitness suite and exercise studios, alongside a well-stocked public library and free-to-use public computers, all under one roof. It has become the focal point of the town's civic life, hosting fitness classes, learn-to-swim programmes, community events and library services, and its striking design has earned architectural recognition. Run as a public amenity by South Tyneside Council, Hebburn Central serves residents of all ages, from families using the pool to older people accessing the library, and it stands as a modern replacement for the town's previous leisure and library facilities and a genuine community centrepiece.
