About Hebburn Sports Club
Hebburn Sports Club, known to generations of Hebburn people simply as the Sportsy, sits at 16 South Drive on the same site as the Hebburn Sports Ground. Run as a members' sports and social club, it has been refurbished in recent years into a modern sporting, leisure and social venue, and the ground next door is the home of Hebburn Town FC. The bar and function room are available for private hire and the club is a regular fixture for local functions, wakes, christenings and celebrations.
Beyond the football, the club has long been one of the town's community venues, putting on events through the year for members and the wider public. In several recent autumns it has staged a ticketed bonfire and fireworks night on the sports ground, one of the few firework displays still held within Hebburn itself. Dates, prices and whether the event is running at all vary from year to year, so the club's own Facebook page is the place to check before making plans.
