SUPER Natural October Half-Term at WWT Washington
A week of nature-themed half-term activities at the wetland centre: willow wand crafting and marshland potions daily at 1pm, owl pellet dissection, pond dipping, minibeast hunts and a self-led trail.
About This Event
A scare-free, nature-themed half term for younger children at WWT Washington, mixing wetland folklore with seasonal crafts and outdoor exploring. Collect a SUPER Natural logbook on arrival, then make willow wands and marshland potions in the Discovery Centre (daily, 1pm to 2pm) or decorate spooky shortbread in the Waterside Café (2pm to 3pm, £2 per biscuit). A self-led Wet Wood wild things trail is open throughout. Each day also has its own highlight: a Birds of Myth and Superstition walk on 24 October, fairy ring wreath making on 25 and 26 October, owl pellet dissecting from 27 to 29 October, Michael Turner's Cabinet of Curiosities on 28 October, pond dipping on 30 and 31 October and a minibeast hunt on 1 November. Most activities are included with standard entry, WWT members go free, and booking online saves 10%.
