About St Joseph's Catholic Academy

St Joseph's Catholic Academy is a Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form on Mill Lane in Hebburn, educating pupils aged 11 to 18. Part of the Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust and linked to the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle, it draws pupils from Catholic families across Hebburn, Jarrow and the wider South Tyneside area, and offers a post-16 curriculum as well as GCSEs. As a faith school it manages much of its own admissions within the coordinated South Tyneside scheme, with faith criteria alongside distance; families considering a place should read the academy's own admissions policy and apply through South Tyneside Council by the published deadlines. Parents wanting to check the school's current Ofsted judgement can find its most recent inspection report on the Ofsted reports register at gov.uk.
